YOUR PRIVACY

Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 3, 2026

Bethel Real Estate Solutions Ltd (“Bethel”, “we”, “us”) operates property.bethel.ng as a property marketplace and estate agency. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you browse, register, advertise, enquire about properties, subscribe to updates or purchase listing and promotion services.

1. Who is responsible and how to contact us

Bethel is responsible for personal information it processes for its own services. For privacy enquiries or requests, email support@bethel.ng with the subject “Privacy request”. An independent advertiser, agent or service provider may be separately responsible for information it receives and uses for its own purposes.

2. Information we collect

  • Accounts: your name, email, telephone number, sign-in details, account role and profile information you provide.
  • Listings: descriptions, prices, location/address, property features, images, documents and other information you submit.
  • Communications: property enquiries, valuation requests, support messages and newsletter subscription details.
  • Paid services: selected listing or promotion package, payment status, transaction references and invoice information. Payment information is also handled by the provider presented at checkout.
  • Technical information: IP address, browser/device information, cookies or similar identifiers, visited pages and security or diagnostic events recorded by the site and its enabled services.

We receive information from you, your use of the website, relevant advertisers responding to enquiries, and providers supporting the requested service. Information required to operate an account, process a request or purchase a service must be supplied for that feature to work. Optional information need not be provided.

3. Purposes and lawful grounds

We use information to provide accounts, publish and manage listings, respond to enquiries, provide agency services, administer paid listings and promotions, and deliver features you request. Where applicable, this processing is necessary to perform a contract or take steps at your request before a contract.

We also process information for legitimate interests such as protecting users, detecting misuse, moderating listings, maintaining the service and handling disputes, subject to your rights and interests. We process records where necessary to meet legal obligations. Where processing relies on consent, including optional marketing subscriptions, you may withdraw that consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.

4. Public information and property enquiries

Published listings and public profile details can be viewed, copied or indexed by others. Publish only information and media you are authorised to share. Do not include passwords, access codes, identity documents or sensitive personal information in public fields.

Enquiries may be sent to Bethel and the relevant advertiser, owner or agent so they can respond. Contacting someone through WhatsApp or another external service also makes information available to that service and recipient under their own practices.

5. AI listing tools

When you choose Generate AI description or Populate listing data, the description, relevant property facts and available field choices for that request are sent to OpenAI’s API. Do not include confidential information or personal data you are not authorised to share. Review every suggestion before saving or publishing; AI may make mistakes. These tools assist with listing content and do not determine your legal rights, creditworthiness or eligibility for housing.

6. Cookies, updates and third-party features

The website uses cookies or similar storage for sign-in, sessions, security and preferences. Enabled tags, analytics, chat, notification services and embedded content may also collect technical information. Google Tag Manager is present to manage website tags; individual tags determine what additional information is collected.

Newsletter subscriptions are processed through Brevo. You can unsubscribe using the link in a marketing email or contact us. Browser push notifications, where offered, can be disabled in your browser’s site permissions. Third-party maps, video, chat and external links are subject to their providers’ privacy information.

You can manage or delete cookies through browser settings; disabling essential storage may prevent sign-in or other functions. Browser controls are not a substitute for any consent the law requires. Where consent is required for non-essential technologies, those technologies must not be used without it.

7. Recipients and international processing

Information may be shared with relevant property contacts; hosting, maintenance, security, messaging and email providers; the payment provider used at checkout; OpenAI for requested AI tools; and professional advisers or authorities where necessary and lawful. We may also disclose relevant information in a lawful business transfer, with appropriate protection.

Providers may process information outside Nigeria. Transfers must meet applicable requirements under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, including an adequate level of protection, appropriate safeguards or another legally permitted basis. Contact us for information about safeguards applicable to your data.

8. Retention and security

Retention depends on the purpose: active accounts and listings support ongoing services; enquiries are kept as needed to respond and handle follow-up; payment and accounting records may be kept to satisfy legal requirements; security logs and backups support protection and recovery. Disputes or legal obligations may require longer retention. Data no longer needed should be deleted or anonymised. Contact us for information about retention applicable to a particular record.

We use measures intended to protect personal information, but no online service is completely secure. Use a unique password and report suspected account misuse promptly.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law and relevant exceptions, you may request information about processing, access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, or object to processing. You may withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing, and raise concerns about decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

Email support@bethel.ng to exercise your rights. We may reasonably verify your identity and will explain any lawful reason preventing fulfilment. You may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission; contacting Bethel first is not a condition of that right.

10. Children and changes

Property account and paid services are intended for adults. Please contact us if you believe a child has supplied personal information inappropriately. We may update this policy as services or legal requirements change. The updated date appears on this page; material changes requiring further notice or consent will be handled as required by law.
